It was really touching to watch Joel Sartore (in a tie!) on CBS Sunday Morning today talking about mothers, narrating photos and honoring his wife, Kathy, who was singing a lullaby.I first met Joel in the early 90s during projects at NGS. He was so willing to do anything to succeed in this business. He'd say, "I'm new to this...what do you think of my..." story idea/photo/business card, whatever. Joel figured out early in his career the importance of asking for help from folks a bit ahead on the trail.
Every time I see his work, I feel he is staying true to himself. He keeps giving back, too. Congratulations, Joel, on your latest book, Photographing Your Family. Mom must be very proud.
